Thank you.

We are finally at the end.

This is my 201st post since starting this effort 107 days ago. The website I launched that day has been visited 4,714 times by nearly 3,700 people from around the globe. Over 2,600 of those visitors were in and around Harbor Springs.

I am exhausted. I think as a community we all are. I hope for most of you it is a good kind of tired. The tired of knowing you tried your best and did all you could.

I don't know what will happen later this evening. There are certainly more worrying issues than those local to us. But there is hope as well. The anticipation of the beginning of a new chapter in our story.

When the results come in, I will post them, win or lose. And we can start to see the shape of what comes next.

I want to convey a heartfelt "Thank you" to each of you who have reached out, shared, stopped by, made cookies, given hugs and notes of encouragement. Special thanks to Molly, Nikki, Cora, Karen, Bill, Carole, Linda, Jody, Nancy, Jamie, John and the hundreds of others who have liked, shared, and spread this message.

Please indulge me as I take a second to publicly thank Sara for her unwavering support of this crazy effort. Sara agreed to marry me under the Christmas tree on Main Street here in Harbor Springs. When I say many have had their "best days" here in Harbor Springs, I am one of those people. I am extraordinarily lucky to call Sara, Ty and Hattie my family.

This effort was rooted in trust in our neighbors and kindness. Those values were reflected time and again in the interactions I have been privileged to coordinate here.

Thank you for taking hold and believing in that message.

Since I moved here full-time, there has been acrimony and contention in our town's civic dealings. I hope what I have done here has improved not worsened the situation.

In the days and weeks ahead, we will need to make some choices together about how to move forward. To sustain our small town year round we will need to have important conversations that won't be easy.

As we turn out the lights on this campaign, all I can think to do is express my gratitude for letting me be your digital neighbor for the last 107 days.

Thank you, Harbor Springs. Cheers to new friends, common causes and a bright future.
